Keeping in touch

We completed our 35th legislative day on Saturday, February 12, 2011.  The transmittal deadline for non-revenue bills to pass between the House and the Senate is Thursday, February 24th.  Bills which have no revenues attached to them must be passed out of committee by Friday, February 18th so that they may heard on the floor of  the House in order to be voted on by the House and complete the process in the lower chamber.  Then the bills which pass 2nd and 3rd readings advance to the Senate for another thorough vetting.  The bills which successfully complete the process in the Senate are then transmitted to the Governor’s office to be signed into law.

Madison Hill of St. Regis earns top honors at State

Madison Hill, a junior at St. Regis, took top honors in the long jump at the Class C State Track and Field meet in Missoula on Friday with 16-8.25. She was trailed by Claire Fickler from Drummond with 16-06.75. Ember Schwindt from Cascade took third with 16.05.75, followed by Carly Hergett of Arlee in fourth with 16-05.25.

Federal regulators flag concerns as Montana cuts Medicaid rolls

Federal regulators are urging Montana health officials to fix shortcomings in the state’s Medicaid redetermination process, expressing “concerns” that the state may be disenrolling people who are eligible for the public health insurance and creating barriers for others through long wait times at call centers and during the application process.

Mineral Co. girls earn All-State honors

Fourteen girls were announced for the 2016-17 Western C Girls All-State selection in basketball. Including Superior’s athlete, junior Kenzie Mueller received first team all-conference and first team all-state. St. Regis senior, Madison Hill also received all-state. Other St. Regis girls awarded was not available by press time.
