Little Bobcats receive special hats from church women
The elementary kids in Superior were in for a treat last week when ladies from the Superior United Methodist Church Womens Group, Leslie Heppe, Tammy Wieweck, and Becky Miller, arrived with boxes and bags full of hats.

Veterans Day was on Friday, Nov. 11 and several events took place in Mineral County to honor our local vets, including breakfasts at the school in St. Regis and at the Masonic Temple in Superior hosted by Eastern Star. THOMPSON FALLS- The first annual Clark Fork Valley Classic basketball tournament took place on Saturday at the Thompson Falls High School gym in front of a crowd of about 75 fans. High school teams from Florence, Thompson Falls, Kellogg and Superior squared off on the court during the inaugural competition.

Dec. 12, 1957: Day Robbery From Home—Cecil Russell reported the loss of considerable western gear from his Iron Mountain home, south of Superior, on Wednesday.
Obituary; Robert (Bob) Kinney
Robert (Bob) Kinney, 70, of Superior passed away August 23, 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital with his family by his side. Bob was born to Russell and Wilma Kinney on March 9, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bob graduated from Missoula County High School in 1962. As a high school basketball player, he was a shooting guard for Lou Rocheleau’s Sentinel Spartans as they ran up a 54-game winning streak enroute to becoming the 1962 Class AA State Champions. Four years later, Bob earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education - Mathematics/Health Sciences from the University of Montana in 1966. In that same year, he married Beatrice Lefler Schatz and they moved to Superior where he taught Mathematics, Social Sciences and Health Enhancement and coached wrestling and football until his retirement in 2000.
