Flat Iron Quilting Guild recently drew a winner at the First Security Bank in Plains. The annual fundraiser raffle drew plenty of tickets this year with all the names just about over flowing out of a laundry size basket.

Lolo Forest wants input on revision plan
Much has changed since 1986, the last the Lolo Forest Revision was made. Now the Forest Service is looking for input about this multi-year process that will affect snowmobilers, hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, berry pickers, hunters, fishing-folk and everyone else that recreates, somehow, in the woods.

Spring has arrived and with it the track and field meets in Montana. The first big track meet for many Sanders County teams was recently held and tested the athletes abilities and agility in many different events; running, relays, discus, javelin, hurdles, high kump, pole vault, triple jump, and shot put. The Plains, Hot Springs, Thompson Falls and Noxon track teams were in action on Mar. 30 in Frenchtown at the Jim Johnson Invitational.

Sometimes the strength of a conference in high school volleyball does not really show until you get into postseason play. That was exhibited in the District 14C Tournament last Thursday and Friday at Hot Springs High School.

Superior girls take district title
The Superior girls won their first district title this last weekend at district competition in class 6-B at the Missoula County Stadium. Deer Lodge came in second with 100 points even, but the Superior girls were several strides ahead with 131 points to sweep the competition on Friday and Saturday. After seven events on Friday, the Superior girls led with 56 points to Deer Lodge's second place total of 49.

Sanders County Sheriffs patrol region
SANDERS COUNTY- I would imagine that most law enforcement officers have experienced the feeling at one point in their career that they are in a “thankless” profession. Many people probably do not appreciate what these men and women go through on a daily basis. Until they need their help. But for some such as Sanders County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Josephson, it is just part of the job.
