Roaring Lion timber salvage project underway
The Roaring Lion timber salvage project is underway in the Bitterroot National Forest. Falling snags near the trailheads of Roaring Lion, Sawtooth and Ward Mountain pose a public hazard. Crews are working to harvest 45 acres of the fire-killed timber, as the result of the Roaring Lion fire which consumed over 8,700 acres of National Forest and private land, along with several homes, last summer.

Clark Fork teams, St. Regis girls win
In basketball, the St. Regis Lady Tigers took an early lead against Noxon last Friday on the road. They jumped out in the first quarter to put 11 points on the board, leaving the Lady Red Devils down by eight points. The remainder of the matchup was fairly close, but Noxon couldn’t pull ahead, leaving the Tigers with the win, 31-23.

ST. REGIS – For the first time in over a decade, St. Regis is home to a winning football team after the Tigers defeated Lincoln on the road going 5-4 on the 2014 season.
