The Plains/Paradise United Methodist Church has a new pastor in town, but you may have missed him. After arriving from the Philadelphia area to settle in the Plains/Paradise community last week, Pastor Thomas Hall hit the road once more, but this time by bicycle.

Superior golfers finish season with divisional play
The Superior Bobcats finished their golf season on Monday in Missoula. They returned from divisional play on Monday at around 5:50 p.m. with clubs in tow. They had been looking to secure a spot to the state tournament that is scheduled for May 18-19 in Huntley. But the day didn't go quite as expected however.

They lost two tournaments over the week because of weather. They were supposed to play at Deer Lodge last Saturday, but that didn't happen. They were also supposed to play at Seeley on Tuesday, May 4, but on Monday, Kuhl had already gotten a phone call from the course letting him know that the greens were in no conditions to be played on.

For the third consecutive week, the Thompson Falls' softball team wrapped up an undefeated week of play, but this past week was perhaps the most impressive so far.

Horsemen snag first at TFalls
For the second tournament in a row the Plains boys edged their cross-county rivals, Thompson Falls, in a golf meet. However, this win might have been more impressive since it's their first win of the year and they did it by handling the fast greens and the harsh winds that nearly blew them away at the Thompson Falls course on Saturday.

Museum looking to go to 150th Anniversary Mullan Road Conference
During this time 150 years ago, U.S. Army Lieut. John Mullan was finishing the first road ever to cross the Rocky Mountains to the inland of the Pacific Northwest. Mullan started the road in the spring of 1859 and finished it during the summer of 1860. The road travels from Fort Walla Walla, Washington to Fort Benton, Montana, which at the time was then Nebraska territory.
