PLAINS – Rocky Mountain Bank in Plains just completed renovations to their drive-thru area, improving the quality of service customers receive when they use it.
Mineral, Sanders county food banks among five to receive holiday donation
The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation recently announced a special holiday donation of $203,500 to food banks, food pantries, rescue missions and homeless shelters across Montana. The five Northwest Montana counties that will benefit from the donation are Flathead, Lake, Lincoln, Sanders and Mineral counties.
Plains Food Bank to host informational meeting on hunger
PLAINS - Sanders County has the highest rate of food insecurity in the state, with more than 21 percent of residents struggling with hunger. The Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) will host a Community Conversation: Hunger in Montana and Sanders County on June 12th in Plains. MFBN invites community organizations and community members interested in learning about hunger in their area to attend.

About half a dozen volunteers stood in an assembly line putting cans, boxes and bags of food into paper grocery sacks last weekend: 132 bags to be exact. These were bags of food to be distributed to local families in need so they can enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

PLAINS – The Montana Food Bank Network hosted a meeting at the Assembly of God church on Wednesday to increase awareness and help get a better understanding of the issue of hunger in Sanders County and across Montana.
Food Bank plans activities
The public is invited to an open house to tour the new Community Food bank building on Monday, Jan. 31, noon to 2 p.m., at 308 Pine in Superior, and join the staff for coffee and treats. Visitors are asked to use the alley access from 4th Ave. and park on the South side of the building.

When the crowd started gathering, there was maybe an inch of snow which turned to light rain for the Christmas tree lighting that took place in Superior on Saturday night.
