Carol Anne Kinzie, 64, died September 30, 2013 in Missoula surrounded by her family. A memorial service is planned for 5 pm Saturday, October 5th at the Assembly of God church in Plains.

Mineral County Buckle Up Program hits the streets
The Mineral County Buckle Up Montana Coalition has hosted a total of two events in the county in order to educate residents on the importance of buckling up while driving as well as the importance of properly utilizing child safety seats.
Cancer Network of Sanders County to host event
PLAINS - Cancer Network of Sanders County invites everyone to come to the 12th Annual Fall Fundraising event – “Brats, Hops & Grapes,” on Saturday, October 5 at the Sanders County Fairgrounds Pavilion from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. There will be a silent auction, a live auction, and plenty of food, wine and beer for all. It is, however, a night for the adults as you must be 21 to attend.

Mineral County Sheriff Ernie Ornelas held a press conference on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 pm in front of the Mineral County Courthouse in Superior, where himself and Deputy Jim Balenger’s attorney defended the actions of the deputy on the evening of Sept. 20.

Michael Keith Cooper
PLAINS, MT - Michael Keith Cooper, born on March 11, 1951 in Fortbragg, CA went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2013. He spent most of his life in Humbolt County where he worked in the timber industry. After retiring earlier this year, he and his wife, Sandy, his love, and best friend of eleven years, moved to Plains, MT to be closer to his brother and sister-in-law, Marlin & Virginia Cooper. Mike will be missed by his children Keith & wife, Theresa, Terra and husband Brent Smith, and Sandy’s children: Tommy, Renee & Tabatha, all of whom he accepted and loved as his own. He adored his five grandchildren: Brent Jr., Shelby, Trenton, Miles and Trinity. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Beulah Cooper.

PLAINS – Kinley Paige Harper Hill was born on August 30, 2013 at Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains. She weighed 6 pounds and 5 ounces and measured 21 1/4 inch. Parents are Alicia and Robb Hill of Thompson Falls. Maternal grandparents are Sherry and Dave Alexander of Thompson Falls. Paternal grandmother is Dixie Hill of Thompson Falls.
