Superior woman's body found on bank of Clark Fork River in Missoula
On Dec. 21, Amy Dixon’s body was found on the north bank of the Clark Fork River behind Taco Johns, located on Broadway in Missoula. The 44-year-old woman lived in Superior and may have been in Missoula for a medical procedure, according to friends who knew the woman.
Dale E. Mellen
Dale E. Mellen, Sr. passed away November 8th in Superior, Montana. Dale was born August 5, 1930 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Dale is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Mellen, 11 children numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters. Memorial services will be held December 1st at 1:00 p.m. at the Superior Community Church.

Superior Ranger District to conduct prescribed burns
The Superior Ranger District is planning on conducting several prescribed burns across the county this spring. Potential burn units are located in Cedar Creek, Thompson Creek, Mill Creek, Patrick Creek and Rock Creek. The exact timing of the burns will be contingent upon weather, fuel conditions, soil moisture and other environmental factors.

DNRC gives water tender to Superior Fire Department
It’s hard to hear yourself talk when driving down the highway in the Superior Fire Department’s water tender. The giant vehicle only gets about four miles to the gallon, and is equipped with two 50-gallon fuel tanks. It’s loaded with 28,000 gallons of water and can rip up the mountains to attack wildfires.
