Superior Fire Department barbecue and open house

On Friday, September 4th through 8th, the Department will be holding a fundraiser barbecue on the Courthouse lawn, together with a fire station open house. This event has been made possible through generous donations of cash and needed supplies and discounts for community merchants. Donations are still rolling in. Superior School holds food drive for pantry
During the month of October, the Superior School District is holding a food drive for their school’s pantry that provides students with meal staples, personal hygiene items, and proper nutrition through the schools’ backpack program.

Many people in Mineral County rely on food assistance and many are families with school-age children. When school is in session in Superior, breakfasts and lunches are provided along with their Backpack Program for weekend nourishment.

The Mineral County Library will host their annual Pumpkin Decorating and Costume Contest on Oct. 27 from noon to 2 p.m. There is also a fall fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a bake and book sale, as well as hot dogs. The Chamber of Commerce will be there at noon, and Parents as Teachers will do a slime presentation. All events will be held on the library lawn located at 301 2nd Ave. E. in Superior.
